Once again for all Dances at Davis High ONLY STUDENTS WITH PRIOR ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVAL WILL BE ALLOWED TO BRING A GUEST from another school. These guest students will be required to complete a dance guest contract. Only students with prior administrative approval will be allowed to bring a guest from another school. If you are planning on bringing a student from a different school, you must visit with an administrator. The administration and Student Body Advisors are encouraging students to ask DHS students to the dance. If you have lost your student ID, you can purchase a replacement in the office. If inappropriate dancing continues after one warning, the lights will be turned on and/or music changed as a collective warning for everyone.Students bringing a guest from another school must fill out a guest contract and return it to the administration no later than 2 days before a dance.Students are admitted as couples, one of the couple needs to be from Davis High School.All students and guests must have valid picture ID to be admitted to the dance.Ticket price will NOT be refunded if a student is asked to leave the dance. Any student who engages in fighting, harassment, or other disruptive behavior shall be immediately dealt with accordingly by the administration on duty.The school is not responsible for articles lost or stolen at a dance.Students will be sent home for inappropriate dancing or behavior.Students must present their ticket to gain entrance into the dance.Tickets will be sold in advance of the dance.School authorities maintain the right to prohibit music that is not consistent with the mission of the District.NO outside containers, drinks, bottles, cans.Students are encouraged NOT to bring these items to a dance. Davis High School administration has the right to search any handbags, book bags, or large parcels.Doors may be opened under the supervision of a chaperone to promote air circulation. Students are not permitted to leave the dance and return.Students and/or their guests in violation of the Davis High School Dance Guidelines may be immediately removed from the dance, have their parents called, and will be prohibited from attending future dances! Enforcement of the dress and dance guideline is at the discretion of the Davis High School staff and administration. So in the long run it is more beneficial to find that happy medium: the sweet spot between pushing it to the limit and improving, and getting worn out and injured.Įvery athlete faces injuries and has to find a way to push through them. That has never been more true obviously we want to push ourselves and teammates to do better and be faster, but too much of that and you’ll exhaust yourselves, and are then more injury prone. Injuries are always a challenge, so finding that balance is important.” Melodee Waddoups on some challenges. “We have region coming up soon- I think we have a chance at it so there’s a lot of prep with finding the balance between hard work to get faster and staying healthy. The team is having everyone try events to score points more consistently as well as fine-tuning techniques to improve speed in each event, Parker Sagers, senior and captain on the team, explained giving a look into the team’s strategy going into upcoming meets. “We are seeded really good this year not that other years weren’t, but we are doing really well.” says senior Shelby Steele about upcoming meets. With State around the bend, and regions coming up even sooner this is how the Davis High Track team is preparing to place big. Running is hard work, so anyone who can do it even half decently is a skilled athlete with insane control over their body and mind.

Whether it’s the 200m, 400m, hurdles or pole vault, there is no denying that track is an insane sport, encompassing some of the most impressive and top tier athletes around.
